Description
Ottawa Community Housing Corporation seeks a qualified provider for progressive design-build services for a housing retrofit and expansion. The project involves a panelized exterior energy retrofit of an existing two-storey duplex and the addition of four homes behind and above the existing building, using off-site manufactured panels to create the new building envelope. The work also includes a centralized mechanical system for heating and cooling the existing and new homes, plus rooftop solar panels for on-site renewable energy. The stated goals are to reduce the existing building’s energy consumption by more than 60% and deliver four additional high-performance homes with energy consumption of 100 kWh/m²/year.
