Description
The United Nations Development Programme seeks an individual consultant to conduct qualitative research and case analysis supporting a Voluntary Local Review of sustainable development experiences in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The work includes developing case-selection criteria; conducting desk and field research and stakeholder interviews; analyzing implementation, stakeholders, results, challenges, lessons, and links to the Sustainable Development Goals; and preparing substantive case studies for integration into the broader review. Child-friendly and climate-resilient dimensions should be considered where relevant, and the consultant must revise deliverables based on technical and government feedback. The assignment is home-based in Beijing, China, with possible travel to Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture for 10–15 days, and is expected to require up to 80 working days from October 2026 through March 2027. Required qualifications include a master's degree or higher in a relevant field, at least 10 years of relevant professional or research experience, and fluency in English and Chinese. The proposal must include a brief methodology, a signed confirmation-of-interest and availability letter with a lump-sum financial proposal, a CV or P11, references, and supporting academic credentials.
