Description
The United Nations Development Programme seeks an individual consultant to conduct a soybean value-chain financing study and assess the feasibility and scope of a loan-guarantee facility. The assignment addresses financing barriers affecting smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises, and requires analysis of the financing landscape, financing strategy, bankable concepts, agricultural value-chain economics, financial models, risk, and financial structuring in Sub-Saharan Africa. The assignment requires 50 working days completed within five months. Required qualifications include a master's degree in finance, agricultural economics, business administration, or a related field, and at least 10 years of experience designing or structuring blended-finance instruments, loan guarantees, or agricultural investment funds. The consultant must submit a technical proposal, personal CV with at least three references, an offer and financial proposal, cost breakdown, and applicable declarations and templates through the supplier portal. The evaluation is weighted 70% technical and 30% financial, with financial proposals opened only for technically qualifying offers.
