Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Japan District intends to award a firm-fixed-price construction contract for the construction of a 100,000-barrel cut-and-cover JP-8 storage tank at Yokota Air Base, Japan. The project includes a reinforced concrete pump house on top of the tank housing four 600-gpm issue vertical turbine pumps and one 50-gpm water draw off vertical turbine pump. The tank will feature a high-level valve, independent level alarms, and hardware for an automatic tank gauging (ATG) system. Work also includes piping, valves, vaults, and appurtenances connecting to an existing filter separator building, as well as integration of the new control system with the existing PLC and HMI. A product saver tank and a product recovery pump to return reclaimed fuel back through receipt filtration are also required. The contract will be awarded using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable source selection. Only local sources physically located in Japan and authorized to perform construction there will be considered; offerors must possess a Japanese civil construction or architectural construction license.
