Description

The City of Coronado is soliciting bids for Downtown Enhancements – Phase 1, a lump-sum public-works project along both sides of Orange Avenue between First Avenue and R.H. Dana Place, excluding the 800 block. The work includes removal and replacement of trees; installation, refurbishment, and replacement of tree grates; installation of benches, trash and recycling receptacles, bike racks, bollards, thermoplastic pedestrian markings, colored concrete sidewalk, stabilized decomposed granite paving, and root barriers; repainting existing news stands; sidewalk demolition and replacement; traffic control; erosion control; and related site cleanup. The City will furnish the benches and trash/recycling receptacles, while the contractor will install them. The contractor must hold a California Class A contractor’s license, provide a bid guarantee equal to at least 10% of the bid, comply with prevailing-wage and public-works registration requirements, and complete the work within 80 working days after the Notice to Proceed. The estimated bid value is $1,252,500. The contractor must also provide required payment and performance bonds, insurance, traffic-control measures, and a completed Water Pollution Control Plan.
