The Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission (CARPDC) is soliciting contractors to join their qualified contractor list for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and other housing programs. Services will be performed in Autauga, Elmore, Chilton, Dallas, Macon, Montgomery, Perry, Shelby, and Russell Counties in Alabama. Contractors must demonstrate proficiency with blower door air tightness testing, dense-pack wall insulation at 3.2 psi or higher, and use of infrared cameras to verify insulation. Required qualifications include a BPI-approved weatherization training certificate or five years of WAP experience, general liability insurance with $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, workers' compensation insurance, Alabama business license, Alabama Home Builders or General Contractor's license, and certified lead renovator certificates and firm status. Subcontractor licenses for gas fitting, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing are also required for WAP projects.
