Description
The City of San Diego is soliciting a lump-sum construction contractor to improve the Robb Field Gateway Path. The scope includes demolition of the existing walkway and handrails; construction of an ADA-compliant pedestrian walkway and bicycle path; extension of an existing park path; pedestrian lighting, directional signage, and a drinking fountain; and irrigation, landscaping, drainage, retaining-wall, grading, and related site improvements. The estimated construction cost is $1,524,000, with a 220-working-day contract period including a 90-calendar-day plant-establishment period. The project requires a California Class A contractor license, prevailing wages, a project labor agreement, prequalification, self-performance of at least 50% of the base bid, mandatory SLBE participation of 7.0% and ELBE participation of 5.5%, or documented good-faith efforts. A 10% bid bond and 100% payment and performance bonds are required. Archaeological, Native American, paleontological, biological, stormwater, and environmental compliance obligations also apply.
