Description
The Transportation Security Administration has issued Planning Guidelines and Design Standards for Checked Baggage Inspection Systems Version 9.0, replacing Version 8.0. The PGDS provides requirements and best practices for designers, planners, architects, and other stakeholders developing efficient and cost-effective checked baggage screening systems, including baggage handling, explosive detection system integration, on-screen resolution, checked baggage resolution areas, testing, commissioning, and cybersecurity requirements. The opportunity also provides an industry comment form and the TSA Electronic Baggage Screening Program Funding of Checked Baggage Inspection System Project Costs Version 8.0. Respondents may submit comments on PGDS Version 9.0 or propose changes for a future version by completing the provided comment form, including stakeholder information and detailed comments identifying the applicable chapter, section, paragraph, and page and providing a recommended solution. The funding policy memo describes eligibility for TSA funding, Other Transaction Agreement application and project-delivery processes, and allowable and unallowable costs for checked baggage inspection system projects.
