Description
The Government of Prince Edward Island, represented by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, is soliciting a general contractor for Phase 2 parking lot paving at the Charlottetown Bus Depot. The work includes excavation to grade, stormwater drainage preparation, demolition and disposal of an existing 150-millimetre concrete pad, installation of select borrow, Class A gravel, and Type A and Type B asphalt layers, repairs to potholes and low spots, adjustment of manhole covers, and blending new pavement into existing asphalt. The approximate new or replacement paving area is 2,096 square metres. The contractor must reinstate disturbed areas with topsoil and seed, paint yellow and white parking lines and accessibility markings, remove excess materials, coordinate work to maintain operations, and comply with applicable provincial highway-construction, environmental, health and safety, and building requirements. Owner-arranged testing will include asphalt cores at three locations. The work is to be completed by November 30, 2026, with a proposed contract start date of October 26, 2026.
