MassDOT seeks vendors to provide telecommunication equipment required to ensure the safe operation, maintenance, and monitoring of traffic conditions throughout the Massachusetts transportation network statewide. Two primary categories of needs are addressed by this solicitation: equipment needs and services, and consulting and design services. An indicative list of equipment and systems in place include AFC, PLC, CO, Hydrocarbon, Access Control, Har, two-way radio, RTU, DWDM, fiber optic, Telephony, Traffic/Security CCTV, Ventilation, and Automated Gate/Barrier Systems. New language allows contracts resulting from this RFR to be used by all departments of MassDOT, the Commonwealth, including all constitutional offices, the legislature, and the judiciary; cities, towns, municipalities, counties, and other political subdivisions of the Commonwealth, including schools, and other service districts; authorities, commissions, institutions of higher education, and quasi-public agencies, and Not for Profit contractors currently contracting with the Commonwealth to provide human and social services; and other eligible entities designated in writing by the State Purchasing Agent. All entities other than MassDOT must execute a separate contract that meets their own legal and business requirements.
