Description
The City of Columbus Department of Public Service is soliciting bids for an annual unit-price bridge maintenance contract covering the cleaning and sealing of several bridges within Columbus city limits. Work includes removing debris and deicing chemicals from bridge decks, curbs, sidewalks, railings, expansion joints, beams, abutments, backwalls, wingwalls, piers, and bearing devices; water blasting or other approved cleaning methods; concrete sealing with non-epoxy or epoxy-urethane sealers; soluble reactive silicate treatment of concrete bridge decks; graffiti removal; debris hauling; mobilization; environmental protection; and maintenance of traffic. The City may add or delete bridge locations, and payment will be based on actual measured quantities. The contractor must provide traffic-control devices, law-enforcement support when directed, safety equipment, a bucket truck when requested, advance notifications for work and traffic changes, and compliance with Ohio prevailing-wage and environmental requirements. The contract is estimated not to exceed $500,000, with a maximum contract amount of $310,000 stated in the contract provisions. A 10% bid bond is required with the bid; a 100% performance and payment bond is required after award. Bids must be submitted electronically through Bid Express, and the proposal package includes the Proposal Signature Affidavit, applicable joint-venture documents, bid-bond supporting documents, bidder forms, subcontractor information, experience and resources, three similar completed projects, and other specified certifications and registrations.
