Description
The Department of the Air Force is seeking information from qualified sources capable of essential remanufacture of KC-135 Auxiliary Power Units to a serviceable condition. The effort covers APUs identified by NSNs 2835-01-685-5852 and 2835-01-607-1588, with part numbers 4550063 and 161331-135A. Work includes disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, component replacement, remanufacture, functional and acceptance testing, packaging, marking, and delivery. The contractor must provide the necessary facilities, labor, equipment, parts, and technical capabilities, and must use applicable OEM specifications and Air Force technical orders. Interested sources must demonstrate aircraft and flight-equipment design experience; manufacturing, overhaul, parts-procurement, and full APU testing capabilities; possession of the required overhaul and repair data package; and knowledge of military airworthiness requirements. The anticipated effort may involve firm-fixed-price remanufacture with separately negotiated over-and-above work, supply-chain risk mitigation, Government-Furnished Property controls, counterfeit-part prevention, cybersecurity and supply-chain management plans, and First Article Test considerations.
