Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking capable sources for a one-time service to remove and replace 60 UPS batteries serving the main server UPS system. The required batteries are UPS12-545PLP units with specified C&D Technologies, electrical, cell, milliohm, and Mitsubishi equipment characteristics. The work includes verifying UPS operation, placing the system in maintenance bypass, performing lockout/tagout procedures, installing and torquing the replacement batteries, restoring inverter operation, and documenting final operational testing. The contractor must provide one hard copy and one electronic copy of a service report and dispose of the removed batteries at an approved hazardous-waste collection facility. This is a Sources Sought/RFI for market research and planning only, not a solicitation or offer opportunity. Respondents are asked to provide a capabilities statement, business-size and representation information, manufacturer or distributor status, commerciality and compliance information, lead time, estimated lifespan and support details, applicable contract vehicles, general pricing, and Unique Entity ID/CAGE information.
