Description
La Mesa-Spring Valley School District is seeking proposals for districtwide fiber-optic Wide Area Network and internet access services. The initial WAN design requires 1 Gbps multimode fiber handoffs connecting 23 sites to the District Office MDF, with scalable bandwidth options up to 10 Gbps per site. Internet access requires an initial 10 Gbps single-mode fiber connection between the District Office MDF and the San Diego County Office of Education, with options to increase capacity to 20 Gbps and 40 Gbps. The selected provider must plan, configure, install, monitor, and maintain the network and vendor-supplied equipment, including fiber handoffs, network hardware, testing, reporting, help-desk support, and repairs. The proposal must address network availability, response-time requirements, E-Rate and California Teleconnect Fund participation, bandwidth growth pricing, implementation scheduling, technical design, relevant K-12 experience, staffing, licensing, and service support. The resulting contract is expected to cover a three-year base term with two one-year renewal options, subject to funding and program eligibility.
