F-16 Aircraft Trailing Edge

The Air Force requires a qualified source for the production of F-16 aircraft trailing edges. Engineering source approval is required to maintain the quality of the part. Failure to procure this trailing edge from a qualified source could degrade the mission capability of the F-16 aircraft. Inadequate control of the machining and processing of this part can result in structural or durability degradation. Close tolerance matching of components is required, as is special care and attention to surface finish, assembly, and sealing. Completion of pre-contract award qualification requirements are necessary to assure the government that the offeror is capable of producing the trailing edge in compliance with the applicable technical specification/data within the schedule and economic constraints of the contract.
