Description
The City seeks quotes for two 20,000-foot quantities of 15 kV cable: one single-conductor cable with a full concentric neutral and one three-conductor cable with a reduced neutral. The specifications call for stranded aluminum conductors, copper neutral wires, 175-mil insulation, and cable suitable for direct burial or installation in ducts. Tree-retardant crosslinked polyethylene (TR-XLPE), ethylene propylene rubber (EPR), or an approved equal is acceptable; copper tape is not desired for the neutral or metallic shield. Class B stranding is preferred, though Class C may be considered if it offers a more favorable lead time. The quote form requests lead times and asks bidders to explain any specification differences in a separate letter.
