Managed Backup and Recovery Software Prequalification

This Invitation to Qualify is the first phase of Shared Services Canada's procurement process for enterprise managed backup and recovery software. The Government of Canada is seeking the software publisher or independent software vendor responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the proposed product; resellers and service-only organizations cannot qualify independently. The anticipated procurement covers software licensing, license keys and activation codes, documentation, maintenance and security updates, technical account management, Tier 3 engineering support, reporting, and optional professional services. The proposed software must support granular recovery of files, databases, applications, servers, and storage arrays, as well as full recovery of physical and virtual infrastructure across on-premises, private-cloud, hybrid-cloud, and public-cloud environments. Qualification requires evidence of a commercially available product, large-scale deployments for at least five customers with a minimum of 5 PB each, bilingual 24/7/365 help-desk support, ownership of the software intellectual property, documented RESTful API and open-hardware interoperability, and market recognition. This ITQ does not award a contract; qualified respondents may be invited to a requirements-refinement phase and a subsequent restricted RFP. The anticipated contract term has not yet been finalized.
