Description

The National Security Innovation Capital (NSIC) aims to bolster the national security innovation base by addressing the lack of private investment in early-stage technology startups creating dual-use hardware products. NSIC offers funding to hardware startups that have achieved Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 or higher. These funds enable companies to further develop their products, reduce technical risks, shorten time to market, and increase the chances of attracting private investment. The products developed under these agreements are expected to be valuable in both commercial and defense markets, enhancing the effectiveness of military personnel and the platforms, systems, components, or materials acquired or developed by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
